The centroid can be obtained by dividing the first moment (Ix) of the trapezoidal section as shown in the figure by the area (A).

Ix = (1/6)(a+2b)h², A = (1/2)(a+b)h

y0 = Ix/A = (h/3)(a+2b)/(a+b)
