Volume of liquid in a cylindrical tank laid horizontally (See figure.)

Calculate the area A (= Sector area - triangle area).
 
Sector area = R^2*arccos((R-h)/R)  
Triangle area = (R-h)*(R^2-(R-h)^2)^(1/2) = (R-h)*(2Rh-h^2)^(1/2)  

A = R^2*arccos((R-h)/R) - (R-h)*(2Rh-h^2)^(1/2)  

Then, the liquid volume V is:

V = A*L = (R^2*arccos((R-h)/R) - (R-h)*(2Rh-h^2)^(1/2))*L
