Calculation of neutral location between point charges

As shown in figure, there are two point charges q1 and q3 of identical pole at distance L, with another point charge q2
of a different pole inbetween.

The neutral location, where the attractive forces (electric pulls) between q1 and q2 and between q2 qnd q3 are identical, is calculated as below.

¡à Attractive force between q1 and q2
 F12 = k*q1*q2/x^2
¡à Attractive force between q2 and q3
 F23 = k*q2*q3/(L-x)^2

Since F12 = F23,

k*q1*q2/x^2 = k*q2*q3/(L-x)^2

q1/x^2 = q3/(L-x)^2

(x/(L-x))^2 = q1/q3

x/(L-x) = (q1/q3)^(1/2)

x = L*(q1/q3)^(1/2) / (1+(q1/q3)^(1/2))
