- bd : bottom width of dam (m)
- hd : height of dam (m)
- H : water depth at upstream (m)
- h : water depth at downstream (m)
- S : specific weight of concrete dam
- ¥ñ : density of water (1000kg/m^2)
- g : gravity acceleration (9.8m/s^2)




¡á Force by the dam weight (W),  distance between the force and the point O (DW)






¡á Force by upstream water pressure (F2), distance between the force and the point O (DF2)






¡á Force by downstream water pressure (F2), distance between the force and the point O (DF2)

- length of downstream slope under water : L = ((h*(bd-td)/hd)^2 + h^2)^(1/2)




¡á Pressure acting on the bottom of dam (F3), distance between
the force and the point O (DF3)

- p1 = ¥ñ*g*H
- p2 = ¥ñ*g*h




¡á Safety factor against overturning, fs

- overtuening moment : M = F1*DF1 + F3*DF3
- resisting moment: MR = W*DW + F2*DF2
- safety factor : fs = MR / M
