2 moles hydrogen molecules react with 1 mole of oxygen molecules to make 2 moles of water molecules.

2H2 + O2 ¡æ 2H2O

When the mass and molecular weight of the hydrogen molecules used in the reaction are MH2 and WH2 respectively and the molecular weight of the oxygen is WO2, the mass of generated water, MW, can be calculated as follows.

MW = MH2/WH2*(WH2+(1/2)*WO2)

MW = MH2/WH2*(WH2+(1/2)*WO2)
