The moment of a simple beam, when only moments act on one point

When the moment M (N ¡¤ m) acts on a point A of a simple beam of length L (m) as shown in the figure, the moment Mx (N ¡¤ m) at a point x (m) distant from the point A can be obtained as follows.

The reaction force (¡è: +, ¡é :-) at each point is as follows.

RB = M / L
RA = -RB = -M / L

Therefore, when the moment in the clockwise direction is set to +,

Mx = M - (M / L) * x
