The concentration Pa (%) after adding the solute X (g) to the liquid W (g) having the concentration P (%) can be obtained as follows.

The amount Ws (g) of the solute dissolved in the liquid having the concentration P (%) is :

P = Ws / W * 100

Ws = P * W / 100

Then, the concentration Pa (%) after addition of the solute is :

Pa = (Ws+X)/(W+X) * 100
 = (P*W/100+X)/(W+X) * 100
 = (P*W+100*X)/(W+X)
