Average impact force, the average force received when an object is bounced off a wall

As shown in the figure, when an object with mass m (kg) enters at a speed v (m/s) at an angle of ¥è (degrees) with respect to the wall, and then bounces at the same speed in dt (sec),  the magnitude of an average force acting on the object can be obtained as follows.

The speed at which the object moves perpendicular to the wall

vx = v * sin(¥è)

Change in momentum before and after impact

dP = m * 2 * vx

Average magnitude of force acting on the object

F = dP / dt = 2 * m * v * sin(¥è) / dt
