Section second moment of area, T-shape, arbitrary x-axis

The second moment for any axis x of the T-shaped cross section can be calculated as follows.

Calculate by dividing into two rectangles and add them.

¡à Upper rectangle

Ix1 = (Tw*h1^3)/12 + Tw*h1*(h1/2-h)^2

¡à Lower rectangle

Ix2 = (b*h2^3)/12 + b*h2*(h1+h2/2-h)^2

Ix = Ix1 + Ix2
 =  (Tw*h1^3)/12 + Tw*h1*(h1/2-h)^2 + (b*h2^3)/12 + b*h2*(h1+h2/2-h)^2
