When passing a specific flow discharge through a circular pipe, the diameter of the pipe can be obtained by determining the average flow velocity in the pipe.

A = Q/V

(¥ð/4)D^2 = Q/V

D = (4Q/(¥ðV))^(1/2)

Q : flow discharge (m^3/s)
V : average flow velocity (m/s)
A : cross-sectional area of pipe (m^2)
D : diameter of the circular pipe (m)

D = (4*Q/(¥ð*V))^(1/2)
