Maximum deflection at the end point when a distributed load is applied to the cantilever beam

As shown in the figure, when the distributed load w (kN / m) acts on the cantilever beam of length L (m), the maximum deflection vmax (mm) at the end of the beam is obtained as follows.

The deflection equation of cantilever is as follows.

vx = (w*x^2/(24EI))(6L^2 - 4Lx + x^2)

When x = L,

vmax = w*L^4/(8EI)

If the unit of w is kN, the unit of E is MPa, and the unit of I is cm^4, it can be written as the following formula.

vmax = (w*L^4/(8EI)) * 10^8
