When materials with linear expansion coefficients of ¥á1 and ¥á2 (1/¡É) are attached to each other with lengths L1 and L2 (m), respectively, the combined coefficient of linear expansion ¥á (1/¡É) can be obtained as follows.

Length dL deformed with a temperature change of 1 ¡ÆC

dL = ¥á1L1+¥á2L2

Overall length L = L1+L2

¥á = dL/L = (¥á1L1+¥á2L2)/(L1+L2)

*** Âü°í¹®Çå[References] ***

¥á = (¥á1*L1+¥á2*L2)/(L1+L2)
