A concentrated load P (kN) applied to the center of the beam, which causes the same deflection as uniformly distributed load w (kN/m), is can be calculated as follows.

Deflection at the center due to a uniformly distributed load

¥ä = 5*w*L^4 / (384*E*I)

Where, L (m) is the length of simple beam.

Deflection at the center due to concentrated load

¥ä = P*L^3 / (48*E*I)

thus,

5*w*L^4 / (384*E*I) = P*L^3 / (48*E*I)

P = 5*w*L / 8
