Products with a cost of S ($) are sold at P ($)  with a margin of B (%)

When the margin of this product is lowered to C (%), the discount rate D (%) can be obtained as follow.

¡à Price P at margin B (%)

  B = 100*(P-S)/P

  (100-B)P = 100S

  P = 100*S/(100-B)

¡à Price Pa at margin C (%)

  Pa = 100*S/(100-C)

The price obtained by applying the discount rate D (%) to the price P is equal to Pa.

Pa = P*(1-D/100)

D = 100*(1-Pa/P)

Pa/P = (100*S/(100-C))/(100*S/(100-B)) = (100-B)/(100-C)

D = 100*(1-Pa/P) = 100*(1-(100-B)/(100-C))
