The sound intensity I (W/m^2) at a distance d (m) from a speaker with output P (W) can be obtained as follows.

I = P/(4*¥ð*d^2)

Therefore, the sound intensity level (SIL) (dB) is,

SIL = 10*log(I/I0)
  = 10*log(P/(4*¥ð*d^2*I0))
  = 10*log(P/(4*¥ð*d^2*10^(-12)))

Here, the reference sound intensity I0 = 10^(-12) (W/m^2).
